PBL @ W-SR

          LIGHT AND SOUND MUSEUM

Teachers: Renee Borglum and Kim Ross, WSR High School

Description: High school physical science students create a Light and Sound Museum to showcase their learning to local students and the community. Watch as Mrs. Ross and Mrs. Borglum lead their students through the process of setting up interactive stations based on criteria used in actual science museums across the country.

               DO OUR ZOO

Teachers: Sharon Chesnut, Rachel Foreman, Abby Wood, Joanna Heyer, and Shephanie Angell, Southeast Elementary and Margaretta Carey Elementary

Description: W-SR elementary teachers use a Project-Based Learning approach to teaching. The five classrooms partnered to create a zoo; this project met over twenty of the Iowa Core standards, including reading informational texts. The zoo was attended by students' families, Carey Elementary students/staff, administrators, and students from a neighboring school district.
